Public holidays in Morocco in 2026: plan your bus trips

Every 2026 public holiday in Morocco, the busiest travel periods and our tips for booking your bus tickets at the right time.

Public holidays in Morocco in 2026: plan your bus trips

Whether you're planning a Casablanca–Marrakech round trip for Eid, a family getaway to Agadir for Throne Day or a long weekend in Fez, knowing Morocco's 2026 public holiday calendar is the first step to a smooth trip.

Why public holidays affect your bus trips

In Morocco, public holidays mean high demand on every intercity route. On the main corridors — Casablanca–Agadir, Rabat–Fez, Tangier–Marrakech — seats go fast, and waiting until the last minute limits your choice of departure times.

On Amalay you compare departures from our partner companies, pick your seat and pay online by card in a few minutes. Your e-ticket with a QR code is ready as soon as the payment is confirmed.

Amalay tip: book at least 5 to 7 days before each public holiday to keep your choice of times and seats.

The busiest periods: book early

Some dates bring a very large number of travellers onto Morocco's roads. At these times, booking ahead is essential:

Eid al-Fitr

The days around the end of Ramadan are among the busiest of the year. Book at least 10 days ahead.

Eid al-Adha

Huge numbers of families travel home: tickets between Casablanca and the southern cities sell out first.

Throne Day (30 July)

A popular long summer weekend, ideal for the coast — Agadir, Essaouira, El Jadida.

Green March and Independence Day

6 and 18 November create a small travel peak in the autumn.
